How to get to Órzola for the La Graciosa boat
Every boat to La Graciosa leaves from Órzola, a fishing village at the northern tip of Lanzarote, below the Famara cliffs. It is far from every resort: Playa Blanca is at the opposite end of the island. That is the first decision of the day: car, the ferry company’s coach from your hotel, or the public bus.
By car
This is what most people do. The road runs up the north of the island (Arrieta, Punta Mujeres) to Órzola, where it ends. To gauge the time, the day-trip coach is a fair guide, and it makes stops: it leaves Arrecife at 9:35 and Costa Teguise between 9:45 and 10:00 to be at Órzola by 10:40; from Playa Blanca and Puerto Calero it leaves before 9:00. In your own car with no stops it takes somewhat less, but from the south allow over an hour.
On parking: Biosfera Express advertises free private parking in Órzola for its passengers, and travellers booking through Civitatis (who sail with Romero) say they parked for free too. In high season arrive with a margin: the boat does not wait.
Coach from your hotel (ferry included)
If you have no car, the ferry listing on Civitatis offers a ferry + hotel pickup option in Playa Blanca, Arrecife, Costa Teguise, Puerto Calero and Puerto del Carmen. The coach drops you at Órzola for the 11:00 ferry, you have the island until the 16:00 boat back, and on arrival at Órzola the coach waits to return you to your area. Same-day return only, subject to availability. That is about five hours on La Graciosa: enough for Caleta de Sebo and Playa Francesa on foot.

By public bus
Route 9 (Arrecife – Órzola) of the interurban bus leaves from Arrecife bus station and reaches Órzola harbour in about 55 minutes, via Tahíche, Guatiza, Mala, Arrieta and Punta Mujeres.
- Monday to Friday: leaves Arrecife at 07:20, 10:15, 11:30, 15:30 and 17:00, and returns from Órzola at 08:40, 11:40, 13:10, 16:40 and 18:10.
- Saturdays and Sundays: leaves Arrecife at 07:30, 10:15, 15:30 and 17:00, and returns from Órzola at 08:40, 11:40, 16:40 and 18:10.
The combination that works is the 10:15 bus: it reaches Órzola around 11:10, in time for the 11:30 boat (Biosfera) or the 12:00 (Romero). And on the way back the bus sets the pace, not the boat: the last one leaves Órzola at 18:10, so the last boat that works for you is the 17:30 from the island (Biosfera, arriving 18:00), even if there are later sailings in summer. The return trick
Since you will be at the northern tip, plan the way back around the last boat for your date: in winter it is the 17:30, and in summer there are sailings up to 19:00. And allow for the midday gap: between 12:30 and 15:00 nothing comes back from the island.
