If you would rather not drive to Órzola or organise anything, this is the one: a coach picks you up at your resort in Lanzarote, you cross to La Graciosa and spend the day on a sailing catamaran along the island’s southern beaches, with swimming, kayaks, snorkelling, paella and an open bar. €74 per adult, 6 hours, and the most-reviewed La Graciosa trip: 2,287 reviews, 9/10.

For €29 you get the return ferry and the whole island to yourself, but you supply the drive to Órzola, the food and the legs: the good beaches are a long way from the village. The day trip costs €74 and sorts out transport, food, drinks and the sea, but you see the island from the water and only set foot in Caleta de Sebo. With kids or without a car the trip usually works out better; if you want to walk to Las Conchas, take the ferry.
